Gnosis 101 Part 1

Welcome friends and newbies to Gnosis 101.

These posts are going to explain what all my posts are about.

To begin with , let's look at what Gnosis is.

Gnosis is a secret knowledge that opens the knowledge of the divine. As it says on the ancient temple, Man know yourself. This means we go about our lives without any kind of understanding of what God is. Religions tell us different views of what they think God is. Religions always paint a view that man has done something wrong and is unworthy of God in some way. We all have this terrible ego that cause so much trouble and it keeps us far away from God.The Gnostic path teaches we all unaware of our true nature. We lost a special knowledge in the mists of time. This knowledge will bring us to the divine and we will find salvation or liberation. We just need to realise what God nature is and how we fit into it. The Gnostics teach of the mind and spirit. We have three arenas, the material world, the spiritual world, and God. The Gnostics taught a legend of a holy being called Sophia who did her own thing and produced a child without her husband's permission. Sophia gave birth to the demiurge or material universe and she became dimmed from her holy light. This demiurge decided to create his own universe and made himself a God, in the process forgot his origin and became a controlling king. I explain this as a myth to reveal in simple stories how the dualistic world started. The people of the time just wouldn’t have understood the reality. The Gnostics taught of the fullness and emptiness. We all think we are us and we don't look or examine any further. Nous (mind and truth) is the means to discern what is what. To understand we need to examine our awareness first, look at the waking world, dreaming world and the dreamless sleep world.Jesus said , examine yourself, this is the meaning.Take a walk down the street. Who do you see? Ok so you see 5 people. So being awake isnt just about you, its also these other people. What does this mean? It means the ego isnt the primary truth, that’s what it means. The waking world is a whole realm of many egos.This is the first world of physical action in the kabbalistic tree. It is the second sphere of the material universe. First from our point of view lol.
