The teachings of world religions aim to purify the individual soul. By correcting our behavior we can model our soul, hence avoiding the many sins we can become more divine-like and less flawed. You will see this in 98% of most religions. Hinduism teaches of the Jiva or Atman and also Parabrahman. The latter is the supreme soul. Yoga aims to merge the soul to God through a state of concentration called Samadhi ,(Union with the Lord). At this point a person’s life experience imprints are cleansed, resulting in liberation. This is all dualistic classic yoga which does appear to hold some truth. It's interesting to see all the imprints from previous lives and watch them being released. If we look for the parabrahman in meditation it appears difficult to find. We are always trying to focus our minds during meditation. Our minds keep churning over stuff. So where is this parabrahman? Where is the supreme soul? Ok, I will tell you. Before I mentioned the veil of Isis covering us, hiding the inner mysteries. There is a point in our concentration when we sometimes peek beyond the holy veil. A rock or blockage moves like a rock covering a tomb in our minds. If we peek now, we see the mysterious something that was always there. We glimpse beyond our empty consciousness into the soul supreme.
