Gnostic concepts - Demiurge

When we look at mind(cosmic mind) and its essence through waking, dreaming, and dreamless sleep we can see the coming and going of the mind. The mind is made from the same substance of god but is not eternal (hence fallen). Mind means the whole of the 'I' of the universe which disappears in sleep. The mind (matter) hides the substance (god). The mind is the Demiurge. The Sophia and Demiurge are merely myths to explain the Gnosis.

The myth goes that Sophia falling from the heavens gives birth to the Demiurge who creates the world but forgets its origin. It then proclaims itself to be the supreme god. It is the same substance of god but it is not eternal. Mind means the whole of the I, the universe, which disappears in sleep. The mind (matter) hides the substance (god). The mind is the Demiurge. The Sophia and Demiurge are merely myths to explain the Gnosis.
